Feedback from our former fellow Anas Al Hajeh from Jordan:
I am delighted to share my remarkable journey in the field of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation at Istanbul faculty of medicin ,a program that has not only enhanced my medical knowledge but also offered me invaluable surgical experiences. The faculty here is exceptionally dedicated, sincere, and approachable, making every moment spent in this program not just educational but truly rewarding. I recently completed two years as a Fellow in HPB surgery and liver transplant at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine.Throughout my training, I have had the privilege of participating in over 290 surgical procedures (more than 70 Pancreatic resections , more than 100 liver resections , and more than 30 liver transplants) , which has significantly expanded my skills and confidence in the operating room. Each surgery presented unique challenges, but they also came with the opportunity to learn and grow. The collaborative environment fostered by the team was essential, especially during the many Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings we held. These sessions were instrumental in honing my decision-making abilities and providing me with diverse perspectives on complex cases. One of the most rewarding aspects of my experience has been my exposure to some of the most challenging medical cases. I have learned how to navigate through difficult situations with a composed mindset, thanks to the unwavering support from my mentors and colleagues. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in this training program. Their dedication to teaching and commitment to patient care is truly inspiring. I want to especially acknowledge Assoc. Prof Dr. Kürşat R.Serin, whose guidance and expertise have been pivotal in shaping my path in this field. His passion for medicine is contagious, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from him. In conclusion, my time at Istanbul University has been nothing short of extraordinary. The knowledge and experiences I have gained will undoubtedly serve me well in my future career. I look forward to applying what I have learned in my practice and contributing to the field of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation. |
