Time-to-interventional failure is an important concept in surgical management of both hepatocellular carcinoma and colorectal liver metastases because repeat resection for recurrence could prolong survival in these disease entities. However, repeat hepatectomy is generally technically demanding due to presence of adhesion formed after previous surgery. As such, prevention of adhesion formation is important to secure the safety and curability of repeat hepatectomy.

During the first IHPBA webinar of 2025, Prof. Junichi Shindoh will talk about the efficacy of adhesion barriers and technical tips for safe repeat hepatectomy.
